When BDO introduced their latest debit card, I took the opportunity to get one for my mom since she’s having lots of difficulties in using her BPI express cash card. At the bank, I decided to get one for myself too.
BDO Cash card is a re-loadable prepaid electronic debit card. It’s like a wallet. You don’t have to make an initial deposit just to apply for this debit card. Aside from that, NO MAINTAINING BALANCE needed and it will not earn interest at all. You can use this for shopping and even paying for your groceries. If you have problems sending money to your families, you can get one for them. Sending money to them would just be a breeze. But keep this in mind: BDO cash cards have a cut off time. Better to reload at an early time, if possible before lunch. Same thing when withrawing money using your cash card. Because the ATMs can only provide a certain amount for cash cards, not sure if it’s only a hundred thousand but they still priotize the debit card holders.
HOW TO GET ONE:
1. Go to the nearest BDO branch with 2 valid IDs. (PRC ID, SSS ID, Driver’s License, Postal ID, Voter’s ID)
**Note: Company ID is not being honored as a valid ID)
2. Fill-out the form which will be given by the bank personnel.
3. Pay P120 for each cash card to be released after 5 working days.
I thought only individuals like me would avail such a card like that but to my surprise, many companies are now using the cash cards for payroll accounts instead of the ATM Debit Card. In addition to that, cash cards being used in payroll won’t be able to transfer funds to another cash card account. Well, depositing money to another cash card won’t be such a pain in the neck for you don’t have to wait in a long queue. After filling out the black form, just go straight to the area where cash cards applications are being processed and VIOLA! You’ll be done in less than a minute.

Hi there! Cash card is different from a debit card. It has no maintaining balance. Actually it’s more like of a wallet. Your money won’t earn any interest at all compared to a debit card. If you would apply for a cash card, all you have to bring is 2 valid IDs and P200.

hi paano poh mgsend ng money sa cash card my brother wants to send money to me pano ggawin nya need b nya punta sa BDO tapos bigay account number ng cash card ko tapos mttransfer n sya sa cash card q?
Jan 17, 2012 @ 04:11:37
Yup, your brother needs to go to the nearest BDO branch, fill out the black form (ask the guard for assistance) with your name and account number as well as the amount to be deposited then ask the guard if he needs to queue. Hope this helps!

pwd po bang mag over the counter pag bdo payroll account? nawala kasi yung atm ko nadukot sa cubao
Jan 31, 2012 @ 23:48:20
Oh, I am sorry… I have no idea about it. But since payroll ka naman, maaring oo.

I was trying to purchase books online. I tried sa Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and even BookDepository. Sadly, all of these channels don’t accept the standard BDO ATM debit card. I guess it’s not activated for international purposes. So then, I tried connecting the card to Paypal. But to no avail. Paypal does not support BDO debit cards as well. Then I read that prepaid cards can be used to purchase online. Here in the Philippines, I found that the BDO Cash Card serves that purpose. So, I was wondering.. have you tried using your Cash Card for (international) online purchases such as through Amazon and Barnes & Noble? Salamat! Really desperate.
P.S. Sucks to not have a credit card
Apr 28, 2012 @ 02:56:12
Oh no, I haven’t tried it. But I think debit card from BPI supports paypal as well as Eon Card of Union Bank. Try to get one.

Jul 09, 2012 @ 14:19:36

Aug 06, 2012 @ 03:08:34
Jul 19, 2012 @ 11:04:35
Maganda nga to. Free ang transactions within BDO. .
Jul 19, 2012 @ 15:28:05

Yes.. just present valid IDs.
Jul 28, 2012 @ 15:33:26
may charges ba yan kapag mag interbranch deposit? im an online seller kasi, mas prefer ng buyers to pay from banks na walang charges.
Aug 06, 2012 @ 02:58:35
Nope, walang charges sa NCR at Luzon.. Pero kapag ang clients mo are from Visayas and Mindanao, may additional charge na P50.
Jul 31, 2012 @ 08:25:31
Aug 06, 2012 @ 03:00:15
Magkaiba kasing account yun. Kung personal account yan, better siguro kung i-close no na yung debit card mo then transfer your money to your cash card.

Aug 13, 2012 @ 05:32:52
Nope, hindi pwede.
Sep 03, 2012 @ 01:21:40
Suggestion: If you want such service, you may apply for a Unionbank Eon Card which is almost the same with BDO Cash Card. It has no maintaining balance but it has an annual fee of PHP 350.00. The reason why there is an annual fee is because it is accepted internationally where VISA cards are accepted. And unlike other banks, Unionbank does not charge the receiver of remittance; what you will see in your balance will also be the same to the amount your mother will send from Spain. The only charge that will apply is yung conversion fee of 2% that is processed by VISA and not by Unionbank. The only cons here with Unionbank is that you are only allowed to withdraw twice in a month. If you decided to withdraw for the 3rd time, Unionbank will charge you 10 pesos only.
This card can also be used for online purchases and it doubles as a credit card (yun nga lang prepaid credit card).

Thanks.
Oct 30, 2012 @ 04:13:00
Hi, better to ask the information desk of BDO about this. Sa pagkakaalam ko kasi, hindi talaga siya pwede tumanggap ng money from other countries kasi it’s not a debit card.
